How to Apply

Submit your application.

You can apply through the University of Iowa application or the Common Application (fall session only). We make admission decisions on a rolling basis beginning in September based on college-specific admission requirements.
Pay the application fee.

The $55 application fee is non-refundable.
Have your ACT or SAT scores sent by the testing agency.

Our institution code is 1356 for the ACT; 6681 for the SAT.

Test Scores for Students Applying Fall 2024: If a student does not provide an ACT or SAT test score at the time of application, they may be required to submit additional academic documents, transcripts, or a personal statement to receive an admission decision. Students will be contacted via email if any additional documents are required. Learn more about our guidelines for students not providing test scores.

First-year students at Iowa enroll in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Business, Nursing, Public Health, or Education. See below for specific requirements for these and other UI colleges that admit undergraduates.
