Furthering Language Incentive Program
Undergraduate students who complete at least four years of the same language in high school are eligible to earn extra college credit in a world language through the Furthering Language Incentive Program (FLIP) offered by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Students may earn a maximum of 8 semester hours (s.h.) of credit through FLIP. The credit is ungraded but the hours count toward graduation. Students may choose from one or both of these FLIP options:
- FLIP 1 is designed for students who want to continue the study of a world language at an advanced level.
- FLIP 2 is designed for students who would like to study a second world language at the introductory level.
Students with AP world language credit must avoid duplication and regression when registering for FLIP-eligible courses, so ask your academic advisor for assistance when choosing FLIP courses.
Additional information about FLIP requirements can be found in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences' online Student Handbook.
