You're invited to get an inside look at life as a Biology student!

The University of Iowa Department of Biology is hosting a special event for admitted Biology students. You'll have a chance to tour the department, see our research labs, and even get hands-on with some activities and experiments.

This event will be hosted in Biology Building East, located at the corner of Dubuque Street and Iowa Avenue on the UI campus in downtown Iowa City.

The event's activities will include:

• 9–9:30 a.m. Check-in
• 9:30–9:50 a.m. Next Step, Iowa presentation
• 9:50–10:35 a.m. Biology Information Session
• 10:35–10:45 p.m. Break
• 10:45–12:20 p.m. Department of Biology Tour
• 12:30–1:30 p.m. Lunch at Burge Market Place
• 1:30–2:30 p.m. Optional campus walking tour

Getting to Campus and Check-in location

For specific directions from your home to campus, we recommend using an online service such as Google Maps. Your check-in location is the lobby of Biology Building East is located at the corner of Dubuque Street and Iowa Avenue.

Event check-in begins at 9 a.m. where you will receive a parking voucher valid for 8 hours if you park in a nearby ramp.

Where to park

Several city-owned parking ramps are within six blocks of your visit check-in location.  At the event check-in table, you will receive a parking voucher valid for 8 hours to use when you exit any of the parking ramps. Parking meters are strictly enforced.

• Tower Place Ramp is the closest parking ramp, located a block east of Biology Building East (BBE)
• Capitol Street Garage
• IMU Ramp
