Applying for financial aid can be overwhelming for students. Keep your students on track with these important reminders.
November 1: We recommend students apply by the Early Action deadline to maximize their opportunities for scholarships, honors program applications, housing applications, and other institutional deadlines.
December 1: FAFSA filing deadline to receive maximum aid consideration. Although students can file their FAFSA after this date, funding for some programs may run out.
March 1: Last day to apply for scholarship consideration.
April 1: Deadline to submit an updated transcript and/or official test scores for scholarship reconsideration.
May 1: Final admissions acceptance deadline.
Maximize Financial Aid: Iowa has hundreds of scholarship opportunities available. Students can check out the Iowa Scholarship Portal to apply for scholarships through programs and departments.
Testing Requirements: For the fall 2023 term, students may apply to the University of Iowa without an ACT or SAT score and still be considered for admission. Students will also still be considered for merit scholarships and direct admission to academic programs.
On-Campus Visits: Daily visits are available for scheduling throughout the fall. Hawkeye Visit Days will also be hosted in October and November. These larger group events will provide a full day of activities, including campus tours, residence hall tour and lunch, the Exploring Majors Fair, and more.
