U.S. News and World Report places the University of Iowa 34th in its 2020 edition of the "Top Public National Universities", the highest of any university in the state. Iowa is currently ranked 84th in the "Best National Universities" category.
The University of Iowa was among the colleges and universities ranked as a "Best Value" by U.S. News and World Reports. Iowa has one of the lowest in-state and out-of-state tuitions among the the Top 35 best public schools.
Iowa is also ranked 52nd on the Best Colleges of For Veterans list and 77th on the Most Innovative Schools list.
The magazine also ranks undergraduate business and engineering programs. Among all public and private universities, the Tippie College of Business is ranked 31st, while the College of Engineering is ranked 66th among those colleges that offer doctoral degrees. Among public universities, Tippie is ranked 19th and the College of Engineering is ranked 36th.
