In this inaugural edition of Iowa on Location, Paul and Nathan from Admissions head out to the 2012 Dance Marathon 18, where more than 1,500 University of Iowa students danced for 24 hours straight to help raise money for children with cancer. The people who work year-round to host this annual event comprise the largest student-run philanthropic organization on campus. This year, they raised $1.3 million. Each dancer has to raise $400 to attend the Big Event.

On Iowa! is a required three-day program for first-year students held immediately before classes begin in August. Designed to complement summer Orientation, On Iowa! will build connections among students, convey University history and traditions, emphasize The IOWA Challenge expectations, and offer strategies for academic success and involvement beyond the classroom.
