The Cinema program at the University of Iowa was one of the deciding factors for Brandon when he made the decision to attend the University of Iowa. He was intrigued by the Adler School of Journalism and the Daily Iowan newsroom and TV studio that he saw that day on his tour. Once Brandon was admitted to the University of Iowa, he decided to work for the Daily Iowan.
Big Ten Athletics were also a deciding factor for Brandon. “I’m a huge sports fan, especially football. During the home games, a big group of friends and I love sitting in the front row because you get that up-close experience with the football games. Also, it is always fun when my parents’ text me and say, “Hey! I saw you on TV!”.
Brandon encourages all students to keep good balance between academics and extracurricular activities. “A great balance between academics and extracurriculars is beneficial, plus it is a great way to make friends and explore different opportunities. As my parents told me on my first day of college, ‘go make the most of it.’”
