Who should attend You@UI?
Anyone interested in attending the University of Iowa—high school students of all ages and those thinking about transferring from another college or university. Students are welcome to bring parents, family members, or guests.
What it's all aboutlectures and interactive sessions with world-renowned faculty, student life staff, and current UI students to get a real sense of what it's like to be a University of Iowa student.
You@UI is all about you! You'll choose from a menu of options to shape your own experience—with selections ranging from biology to creative writing, business to engineering, the UI Honors Program to Academic Support, student leadership opportunities to study abroad, and much, much more. There also will be information sessions on admissions, scholarships and financial aid, along with housing and residence life. You'll be able to tour campus and residence halls, enjoy complimentary lunch in one of our market places, and explore downtown Iowa City.
Admitted students who have been awarded the Old Gold Scholarship are invited to join UI faculty, current students, and UI Honors Program staff at a Scholars Reception on Friday evening, October 14. This is a chance to mix and mingle with future classmates and learn more about research and academic opportunities at Iowa for high-achieving students. Eligible students will receive an email invitation after registering for You@UI.
Optional activities: If you are planning on coming to Iowa City the night before or plan on staying the whole weekend, there are plenty of fun optional activities going on around campus to keep you and your family entertained Friday through Sunday.
