Visit Options for Transfer Students
Visiting a campus is the best way to make an informed college choice, so we make it easy for you to meet the people at Iowa, ask questions, and take look around campus.
We offer a variety of visit programs:
- Transfer Days
University staff and student volunteers will guide you through a day of activities designed to meet the specific needs of transfer students.
- Weekday Visits
We arrange a visit to fit your schedule and focus on your interests. We suggest you visit when classes are in session, even during the summer, so you can check out the residence halls, classes, and academic departments.
- Transfer Daily Visit - Saturday On Campus
A special Saturday transfer visit where university staff and student volunteers will guide you through a day of activities designed to meet the specific needs of transfer students.
- Business Preview Day
The Tippie College of Business is hosting a Business Preview Day this spring for prospective first-year and transfer students and their families. In addition to an overview of business admission and academic options, you'll be introduced to faculty who offer their perspective on majors, student learning, and career trends. Current business students also talk about leadership, community service, and the Tippie culture. Lunch is provided, as well as optional tours of campus and the Tippie College of Business.
- Explore Engineering@Iowa
In addition to learning about Iowa's engineering programs during a Weekday Visit or Transfer Day, consider registering for one of these programs, which are offered on select Saturdays throughout the year.
- Biology Open House & Information Session
Students will have the chance to tour a Biology research lab and see the type of research students can do as a UI undergraduate student as well as interact with our Director of Undergraduate Studies, career and academic advisers, the Director of the Biology Honors Program, current UI Biology students, alumni, and Admissions staff.
- Multicultural Visit Day
This event is hosted each fall by the UI Center for Diversity & Enrichment and the Office of Admissions to welcome multicultural students and their families to campus and learn about the vast opportunities and resources available.
