2 Plus 2 Plan students will transfer into either the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences or the Tippie College of Business. 2 Plus 2 Plan students must meet the following requirements in order to transfer to the University of Iowa.
- Apply for admission to the University of Iowa before earning more than 30 semester hours of college credit.
- Choose a major that qualifies for the 2 Plus 2 Plan.
- Complete the checkpoints for your major. (Visit the Available Majors page for more information.)
- Complete the world language requirement for your major.
- Submit additional application materials as required for selected majors (i.e. Business and Social Work) to the University of Iowa in a timely manner and by stated deadlines for each program.
- Be admitted to the program or major of your choice when transferring to Iowa.
- Participate in Early Registration at the University of Iowa.
- Complete an AA degree.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
- Present a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 from all colleges you have attended when transferring to the University of Iowa. (Some majors/programs require a higher GPA.)
Tippie College of Business
- Present a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA in the six prerequisite business courses, with no grade lower than a C. Also present a 2.75 cumulative transfer GPA in all college courses taken.
- Transferring to Iowa in accounting requires a 2.67 (B-) cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in your community college accounting courses, and a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA in your other business courses, with no grade lower than a C. You must also present at least a 3.00 cumulative transfer GPA in all college courses taken.
