Health Promotion Transfer Tips

Health Promotion is the process of empowering those in need to improve their physical, mental, and social well-being. Health promotion specialists are communicators and problem solvers who identify solutions to advance the health and wellness of those in need. Graduates of the degree are well prepared to work in health promotion professions including worksite wellness, health education, community health, and public health.

Prior to transferring, students should complete:

  • The Anatomy and Physiology sequence equivalent to HHP:1100 Human Anatomy and 1300 Fundamentals of Human Physiology.
  • The major Mathematics or Statistics requirement.
  • The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences General Education Requirements.
    • Transfer students with an AA degree from an Iowa community college or Black Hawk College in Illinois will enter the university having fulfilled all of the General Education Program requirements (except world language and Diversity and Inclusion) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
  • Admission Requirements for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
