Biography

What would people be surprised to know about you?

In 2016, I marched the Rose Parade, which was a dream of mine as an instrumentalist! I also grew up on a dairy farm and have formed a lifelong love of animals and agriculture as a result.

My favorite thing about working in Admissions is

a limitless list! I love getting to meet new people, learn their stories, and share my Hawkeye pride! I also love talking about all of the amazing opportunities students have to grow and explore, as well as encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones in college. Finally, I appreciate the ability to serve as a resource for students and their families, and having the opportunity to make connections with prospective Hawkeyes.

Iowa City “Must Do and Must See” Locations

Lake McBride, though it is a bit off campus, is a beautiful place to go when you just need a day in nature. I love the hiking trails, but also sitting on the edge of the lake and watching the fisherman and sailboats. Bluebird Café in the northside neighborhood has amazing coffee, and delicious breakfast! Finally, the Old Capitol museum preserves the history of the state of Iowa, and of the very beginning of the university. As a history buff, I can’t stay away! Additionally, watching the sunset behind the historic building never fails to take my breath away.

What makes Iowa such a great place?

Both in Iowa City, as well as the state of Iowa, you will find people that are kind, friendly, and neighborly. Everyone is proud to be a Hawkeye, and an Iowan!
