Biography

What would people be surprised to know about you?

One of my lifetime goals is to make it to all fifty states in the United States before I turn fifty – as of now, I’ve been to twenty-four.

My favorite thing about working in Admissions

I love how often the University of Iowa surprises people. Sometimes visitors will come to campus with preconceived ideas of what our university and our state will be like, and I love helping them learn more about who we really are. Iowa City is such a vibrant and exciting community, and our campus is the perfect blend of Big Ten experience and unique student opportunities. It’s great to see students realize what we have to offer!

Iowa City “Must Do and Must See” Locations

The Iowa River Corridor Trail. Iowa City has a phenomenal trail system for walking, biking, and running. The trails are beautiful – they run along the Iowa River, and end down at Terry Trueblood Lake, where you can rent kayaks or go stand-up paddle boarding.

What makes Iowa such a great place?

The community and the vibe of downtown Iowa City is unlike any place else in the state. There are so many great restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, and book stores in the area that are fun to explore, and there’s almost always an event going on in the ped mall on weekends.
