The Iowa First Nations (IFN) resident tuition program grants incoming students from one of 67 tribes affiliated to homelands historical to the state of Iowa to receive undergraduate resident tuition at the University of Iowa. Students should select American Indian in the Ethnic / Racial / Tribal Affiliation section of the application for admission. They will receive a supplemental application via email to provide one of four types of documentation: a tribe/nation enrollment membership number or official documentation, Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB), recognition by your tribe/nation authorities, or self-reported documentation of being a direct descendant with a personal statement.
