Nursing RN-BSN Transfer Tips

The first step is to get a transcript evaluation. To request a transcript evaluation, simply answer the following questions and attach an unofficial copy of your transcript(s):

  • Name (including maiden name, if applicable)
  • Mailing address
  • What month/year did you (or do you plan to) receive your nursing degree from the community college
  • What year did you graduate high school
  • Did you take a foreign language in high school
  • If yes, what language and how many years (i.e., Spanish II, French III)
  • List all colleges/universities you have attended

Admission Requirements:

  • Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Strong academic performance in an ADN or diploma program
  • Strong knowledge base in the natural sciences.  We strongly recommend you take at least one college level chemistry course.

The application deadlines are September 1 for a Spring start and March 1 for a Fall start.

Three plans of study are available.

Admission is highly competitive. We look closely at the natural science courses (anatomy, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, biology, etc.), writing skills (comp I and comp II), and your math skills (statistics). If your academic record indicates difficulty in these areas, we recommend you repeat or take additional courses accordingly. This will demonstrate that you have a strong knowledge base in these areas, and can be successful once you are admitted into our nursing program.
