Areas of Study

Education and Advocacy

  • International Programs—This office provides leadership and support for internationally oriented teaching, research, creative work, and community engagement.
  • Office of Civil Rights Compliance (OCRC)— This office furthers the University's compliance obligations under Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related federal and state anti-discrimination laws. OCRC provides guidance, resources, and support to foster a welcoming, accessible, and respectful campus for all.
  • UI Center for Human Rights (UICHR)The UICHR hosts collaborative events and innovative programs, teaches Human Rights courses, and engages in scholarly work reaching the UI community, the state of Iowa, and beyond. 

Financial Aid and Scholarships

To supplement the cost of attending the University, start your scholarship search with the UI Office of Student Financial Aid. Additional resources include:

  • First-Year Non-Resident Scholarships — Learn more about our merit scholarship opportunities and our scholarship and grant policies. Financial assistance in the form of grants, loans, or need-based aid is not available for international students.
