The University of Iowa Office of Admissions seeks current undergraduate students to host (on camera) videos geared at prospective students looking to attend the University of Iowa. Admissions provides cameras, microphones, and other equipment and has a small video production team who will handle the technical side of productions.

  • $12.50 per hour starting salary
  • 10 or 15 hours per week
  • Very flexible scheduling (occasional evening and weekend assignments)

Duties:

  • Host “On Location” videos sent to student prospects via email and social channels.
  • Participating in brainstorming, outlining and script writing for On Location and other admissions videos.
  • Host other videos for student recruitment as needed.
  • Interview university representatives and students for various videos
  • Work with Admissions Student Video Producers on scheduling (may require evening and weekends) video shoots for events as they’re scheduled.

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable on camera conducting interviews and talking about experiences at the University of Iowa
  • Experience planning, scripting, and producing videos
  • Highly creative, passionate, and entertaining

Qualifications (optional):

  • Familiarity with video/audio editing
  • Familiarity with video production equipment (cameras, mics, etc.)
  • Familiarity with online media distribution sites such as YouTube and social channels
