The University of Iowa Office of Admissions is seeking a current undergraduate student to host (on camera) videos geared at prospective students looking to attend the University of Iowa. Admissions provides cameras, microphones, and other equipment and has a video production team who will handle the technical side of productions.
$12.50 per hour starting salary
10 or 15 hours per week
Very flexible scheduling (occasional evening and weekend assignments)
Duties:
Host videos as part of our “On Location” series which is sent to prospective students via email and social channels.
Collaborate on brainstorming, outlining and scripting admissions videos. Host other videos for student recruitment as needed.
Engage with students, faculty, and staff on camera for admissions videos. No formal news reporting needed.
Bring your personality to every video—be curious, expressive, and not afraid to have fun on camera.
Work with Admissions Student Video Producers to schedule shoots, which may include occasional evenings or weekends.
Required Qualifications:
Comfortable on camera interviewing and talking about experiences at the University of Iowa
Experience planning, scripting, and producing videos
Highly creative, passionate, and entertaining
Desired Qualifications (optional):
Familiarity with video/audio editing
Familiarity with video production equipment (cameras, mics, etc.)
Familiarity with online media distribution sites such as YouTube and social channels
