The University of Iowa Office of Admissions is seeking a current undergraduate student to host (on camera) videos geared at prospective students looking to attend the University of Iowa. Admissions provides cameras, microphones, and other equipment and has a video production team who will handle the technical side of productions. 

  • $12.50 per hour starting salary  

  • 10 or 15 hours per week  

  • Very flexible scheduling (occasional evening and weekend assignments) 

Duties:  

  • Host videos as part of our “On Location” series which is sent to prospective students via email and social channels. 

  • Collaborate on brainstorming, outlining and scripting admissions videos. Host other videos for student recruitment as needed. 

  •  Engage with students, faculty, and staff on camera for admissions videos. No formal news reporting needed. 

  • Bring your personality to every video—be curious, expressive, and not afraid to have fun on camera. 

  • Work with Admissions Student Video Producers to schedule shoots, which may include occasional evenings or weekends. 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Comfortable on camera interviewing and talking about experiences at the University of Iowa 

  • Experience planning, scripting, and producing videos 

  • Highly creative, passionate, and entertaining 

Desired Qualifications (optional):  

  • Familiarity with video/audio editing 

  • Familiarity with video production equipment (cameras, mics, etc.) 

  • Familiarity with online media distribution sites such as YouTube and social channels
