Bachelor of Applied Studies Transfer Tips
- Students must have received an associate degree to be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) program.
- Students who have received an Associate of Arts degree from an Iowa or Illinois two-year institution participating in articulation agreements with the University of Iowa are considered to have satisfied all requirements of the BAS Core Requirements Program, except for "Business/Management."
- Students are encouraged to complete the following Core Requirements before enrolling in the BAS online degree program:
- Rhetoric (3-4 s.h.)
- Quantitative and Formal Reasoning (3 s.h.)
- Social Science (3 s.h.)
- Values and Society (3 s.h.)
- Business/Management (6 s.h. in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management, Marketing, Management Science, Entrepreneurship)
- Core Requirement equivalencies can be found by using the Online Transfer Equivalency Guide.
- The BAS is designed to be completed entirely online, but there is an option to enroll in on-campus coursework. Both synchronous and asynchronous online course options are available.
- Most courses use an online proctoring examination service or may offer exams at our Iowa City Campus Testing Center. A small number may require proctored exams.
