Optional Activities

Students interested in the University of Iowa Honors Program may choose to attend an informational session offered most weekdays. The University of Iowa Honors Program welcomes outstanding students who want to enrich their college experience with engaging course work, exciting experiences outside of class, and opportunities to make great friends.

We invite students to an informational session on most Mondays and Fridays to learn about the University of Iowa's mission to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for students to learn and find a "home away from home."

In this session, students will learn about the resources for First-Generation students, LGBTQ+ resources, multicultural student organizations, the Center for Inclusive Academic Excellence (CIAE), the Multicultural and International Student Support and Engagement (MISSE) cultural centers, and our identity-based Living Learning Communities.

We invite you to have a complimentary lunch when classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Downtown Iowa City and the Iowa Memorial Union also offer many meal options for you to explore on your own.

The University of Iowa offers students opportunities to attend either a group session with a specific academic college/department or schedule an appointment with a specific department while on campus. Select your session when you make your reservation online or contact us directly to schedule an appointment.
