What would people be surprised to know about you?
From an early age, my family traveled. Often tackling mountain ranges and great lakes. This sense of adventure led me to my curiosity of the broader world. Now traveling to 37 countries on 4 continents, that sense of adventure hasn’t been conquered quite yet. A lot of the world is a lot like Iowa having parents just trying to provide the very best for their children. The more we recognize this the better off the world will be.
My favorite thing about working in Admissions
The conversations I share with folks. Often, I will be talking to families who dream of getting an American education. The conversation continues and students and parents recognize the vast opportunities they will have on campus. Or the conversations I share with other admissions professionals spanning the globe, trying to solve the worlds diverse problems.
Iowa City “Must Do and Must See” Locations
Best piece of advice: Ditch the car. Iowa is best explored by bike. You will always get the best parking taking in downtown's numerous patios, the rivers majestic sunsets, or stumble into RAGBRAI, the largest cycling event in the United States that sees 30,000 participants ride 500 odd miles across this great state.
What makes Iowa such a great place?
Iowa is a great place because of the people. The people genuinely care. The people know how to work to accomplish a goal. The people don’t point fingers or push blame. The people pull up their boot straps and get it done. The people will leave you with a feeling of welcome, hospitality.
