This degree offers a comprehensive curriculum with a unique integrative business approach and provides a solid background for graduate study in sport or recreation management and other related graduate programs.
The curriculum is designed to meet North American Society for Sport Management and National Recreation and Parks Association competencies. These standards are based on an understanding of business principles such as finance, sales, risk management, administration, marketing, and promotion.
Core courses will focus on the contemporary nature of recreation and sport enterprises as well as analyzing and resolving challenges in the business and culture of sports. The foundation courses will comprise a range of upper-level courses that develop a breadth of understanding and skills to meet job competencies in sport and recreation management areas.

The Bachelor of Science in sport and recreation management prepares students to make meaningful contributions to the sport and recreation industry at all levels and broaden their understanding and appreciation of the sport and recreation industry.
The curriculum challenges students to think critically and creatively while developing analytical, rhetorical, and research abilities that are required for leadership positions in the sport and recreation industry. Moreover, the program emphasizes and provides experiential learning opportunities for a student's application of concepts and skills in professional settings to enhance learning and development.

The BS in Sport Recreation and Management requires 27 s.h. in foundation courses, 12 s.h. hours of concentration coursework, and 9 s.h. of field experience.
