Katherine came to the University of Iowa because of its excellent creative writing program. She likes the Literature City atmosphere and says "Iowa City is a quiet college town and perfect for studying."

Her favorite memory as a Hawkeye is sitting down and having lunch with Pulitzer Prize recipient, novelist, Iowa alum Jane Smiley. 

Katherine works with the International Student and Scholar Services and the Old Capitol Museum. She finds being involved with them exciting and "it brings professional growth." 

Her advice to new students is to not hesitate in looking for helpful resources on campus.
