"Professors are very helpful and kind, and supportive for achieving my academic goal."
Joy chose to study nursing because she thrives on helping people have a comfortable time during their difficult period of life! She appreciates the exposure to healthcare opportunities and the various help centers provided to students.
The "Minority Association for Pre-Health" has provided her with lots of workshops and in-person study sessions with working doctors. It connects people in pre-health together and gives tips to achieve goals in the healthcare field. Joy also enjoys the friendly community of the "Ping Pong Sports Club," which gives her a chance to meet friends with the same interests.
She advises others not to worry too much about the major they are in, as there are lots of resources at the University of Iowa that can help them determine and decide their path to success.
Joy is an International Ambassador for the University of Iowa Office of Admissions. If you’re a prospective international student who has any questions about life at Iowa, please feel free to reach out to her via email at jiayi-wang@uiowa.edu.
