"What I like most about attending the University of Iowa is that we are directly intertwined with and connected to the Iowa City community. There is no beginning or end between the two, we are all one big Hawkeye family. Because of this you really get the small town (and for me, homey) feel  while also getting the Big 10 experience. Iowa truly gives you the best of both worlds."

When Emma was considering where to spend the next four years, she explored various college campuses. However, every school she visited was constantly compared to Iowa, and none could rival the University of Iowa. From football games and sporting events to classes and academic support, Emma knew deep down that Iowa was her top choice.

Emma holds a leadership role in the UI Dance Marathon, where they raise funds for the children on the 11th floor of the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital. Being part of Dance Marathon has allowed her to make a meaningful impact not only on the lives of the children and their families but also on her own friends and family. It's an indescribable experience she highly recommends.

As a student at the University of Iowa, Emma has created numerous great memories and met amazing people. While it's difficult to choose the most memorable experience, she'd say that her last night as a first-year in the residence halls stands out. Emma and her friends, who share an everlasting bond, gathered in one friend's room in Slater Hall. They built a massive fort between the lofted beds, watched movies, ordered food, and reminisced about their adventures over the past year.

Emma's advice for prospective and incoming students is to savor every moment at Iowa because there are numerous amazing opportunities available. Before they know it, their four years will be coming to an end. She also encourages them to take advantage of all the free resources and events around campus.
