"I chose the University of Iowa due to its beautiful campus, amazing education program, and the outpouring of school spirit. When I toured here for the first time I could feel the energy and love people had for the Hawkeyes."

Something Emily loves about attending the University of Iowa is the tradition called "The Wave". After the first quarter of home football games, we turn to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital and wave to the kids from the stands as they wave back to us from the hospital windows. Every time it gives Emily the chills and reminds her how much she loves this special moment.

During her time as a Hawkeye, Emily has gotten involved in Greek life. In her first year, Emily joined Delta Gamma and it has given her leadership opportunities, a family within the larger UI community, and memories that will last a lifetime. It's important to Emily because joining DG helped her feel like she has a smaller community inside of the big one.

Emily says it is totally normal to be homesick when you come to college, she definitely was. But once she started to get involved in clubs and step out of her comfort zone, Emily found herself making new friends and having new experiences. This led her to love this university and make it feel like home.
