Sophia’s favorite memory at the University of Iowa is taking pictures of the Fall Fest with a professional camera for her favorite class. It allowed her to do what she loved while engaging with other students.

Outside of the classroom, Sophia is an Italian tutor and Journalism Department Peer Mentor. She says, "A mentorship role in both majors not only allows me to help other students in these areas of study but also shows me I'm on the two right tracks." 

She finds the general lifestyle to be welcoming and easy for everyone to feel at home. Sophia likes the campus to be walkable with a  variety of things to do that creates a "difference from the other universities."

Sophia advises future Hawkeyes, "to try everything you can, there are so many opportunities out here for you to benefit from."
