Livvy has always had a passion for helping people, but deciding on a major was a challenge. Torn between her love for healthcare and other interests, she ultimately chose to pursue nursing while adding a business minor. "I wanted to cover more of my interests, and this combination allows me to do that."

Livvy chose the University of Iowa for its outstanding nursing program. "Iowa has amazing support from staff when it comes to deciding on a future career. I grew up a Hawkeye fan, and I absolutely love gamedays here at Iowa."

One of her most memorable experiences has been volunteering in the Mother/Baby Unit at the hospital. "It’s been an amazing experience, and it’s one of the reasons I decided to pursue nursing." A highlight of this volunteer work was holding a newborn baby, helping take vitals, and shadowing a nurse.

For Livvy, gamedays are a favorite part of student life. "I love all of the traditions, like waving to the children’s hospital after the first quarter. And celebrating a Hawkeye win with friends is the best!"

Her advice to prospective students is simple: "Get involved as much as you can on campus! It’s the best way to meet people, and there are so many great experiences waiting for you here."
