"When I came to tour Iowa, the blend of amazing creativity (with our Writer's Workshop, journalism programs, etc.) and high achievements in STEM (such as the healthcare side of campus) became apparent. I knew I wanted a campus that had everything; at the same time, Iowa, being the 3rd smallest Big 10 School, felt very approachable."
Nina loves the variety of opportunities and the engagement of the student body. You can do pretty much everything you can imagine, and you are surrounded by a community of students who truly take advantage of every offering.
One of her most memorable experiences was Crossover at Kinnick, where the Women's Basketball team played on the field at Kinnick, which was amazing. She got to sit courtside, as she was a student-athlete at the time. "It was incredible seeing the outpour of support that was there for the athletes, and being only a few feet away from Caitlin Clark was a plus."
Her advice is that it's okay to make head decisions rather than heart decisions! Sometimes, the college process is treated as a magical, transformative journey filled with wonder. "For me, I was always more logical, and pursued academics and opportunities based on lists of pros and cons. I have had an amazing experience in college! Every approach is correct."
