"What I like most about attending the University of Iowa is the people. I have met so many people who already play a huge role in my everyday life and I would not change them for the world."

Sergio decided to pursue Sport and Recreation Management because Iowa's program perfectly aligned with his values and what he wants to do when he graduates.

Outside of the classroom, he participates in the Hawkeye Sports Business Administration Club, and it is important to him because it has been an easy way to bridge the gap between being an SRM student and working in the sports world.

The most memorable experience Sergio was going to his first football game against Western Michigan. He had a blast, and it was then that he realized that he had made it and was living the dream.

He would tell incoming students to take the dive, explore all options, and chase the most daunting. "Reach for the moon; you might well land on the stars."

Sergio is an International Ambassador for the University of Iowa Office of Admissions. If you’re a prospective international student who has any questions about life at Iowa, please feel free to reach out to her via email at sergio-gonzalezicaza@uiowa.edu.
