Jessie loves the balance that the university provides between social activities, student organizations, and school spirit along with academic resources, opportunities for success, and career advancement. This was a big factor in choosing the University of Iowa.

One of her most memorable experiences was storming the field after we beat Penn State in football. 

Her advice to incoming students would be: Don't be shy. "Everyone is in the same boat and has the same nerves. Knock on your neighbor's door. Ask someone to go to a student org meeting. Sit next to someone new in the dining hall. During those first weeks at school, I can guarantee you everyone is looking for a new friend."
