"I really loved how community-driven the campus is. Although the University of Iowa has a large population of undergraduate students, I have been able to find my own communities that are also all tied together. I love being able to walk through campus and see people I know or go to an event for an organization my friend is in and see other people I know."

Elisa loves researching and learning about the ways that people lived in the past, especially when she is able to draw connections between their lives and her own. This love brought her to the History major. She added on the English major because she has always enjoyed reading, and being at Iowa it only made sense to take advantage of their amazing writing programs.

Being a Tour Guide is definitely her favorite activity she has been a part of because she is able to share her love for the University alongside like-minded individuals. Some of her best friends have been made within the Tour Program because they are so often together.

She has really enjoyed the mundane things, whether that be going to get dinner downtown with her friends, a quick catch-up in between classes with a friend she hasn't seen in a while, or an event for one of the various student organizations she is in where she just gets to spend time with people.

Elisa advises, "Meet people wherever and whenever you can! It's really nice to know that no matter where you go on campus, you are almost guaranteed to run into someone you know."
