"Apart from loving the beauty of the campus and the accessibility and diversity of downtown Iowa City, the University of Iowa instantly felt like home to me. In a way I cannot express, I felt confident from the first visit that I would be able to make Iowa my home and my ideal college experience... so far that has been true!"

Katarina knew she wanted to go to a Big10 school so she would have options of courses and activities available to her, but she also wanted the small campus/college feel, which is very difficult to combine in one school. Luckily, the University of Iowa has both these things!

One of the things Katarina loves about the University of Iowa is the diversity of opportunities and the multitude of ways to get involved. She loves that every individual at Iowa has the chance to explore their interests and discover their passions through classes, organizations, and other school-sponsored or local events.

Katarina's most memorable experience is a series of experiences she had in her dorm room with her roommate and their best friends her first year. They would hang out almost every night, listening to music, playing games, and learning more about each other. Katarina and her friends all lived in the same Living Learning Community (LLC) but stumbled upon each other by accident. They bonded quickly and ended up renting an apartment together sophomore year! Katarina will always be grateful to her LLC for giving her such wonderful, lifelong memories and friends!
