Ainsley wasn't entirely sure what major she wanted to pursue when she started her freshman year, but she loved that the University of Iowa offered a wide range of options. She appreciates the strong connection between the campus and the Iowa City community, which has helped her find a sense of belonging among the larger student body. The abundance of student organizations and resources has allowed her to connect with others and seek help in her studies.

She enjoys the variety of student organizations available, highlighting how they create opportunities for involvement and leadership on campus. Ainsley has participated in several activities, including the University Lecture Committee, marching band, pep band, the College of Public Health Strike Force Team, and volunteering at the UIHC hospital. Her role in the University Lecture Committee has been particularly rewarding, as it allows her to bring many speakers to campus, inspiring her peers to view the world from different perspectives.

Playing in the pep band for men's and women's basketball games last year stands out as one of her most memorable experiences, especially witnessing Caitlin Clark break records in women's basketball alongside friends from marching band.

Ainsley has been surprised by the breadth of the public health field and the variety of career opportunities it presents. Her advice to incoming students is to "get involved on campus. Find something you're passionate about or enjoy, and seek out a student organization, club, activity, or volunteer opportunity that fulfills that. Those experiences will be some of your most memorable and will help you build connections and gain valuable experiences that extend beyond the classroom."
