Her interest in science and helping others led her to pursue Psychology and Counseling and Behavioral Health Services. She knew she wanted a career focused on supporting people, and these fields aligned perfectly with those goals.
Julia is involved in Alpha Phi Omega, Psi Chi, PsychIowa, Future Helping Professions Initiative, and intramural sports. Through these organizations, she has built friendships, gained professional experience, and connected with others who share her interests.
One of her favorite Iowa memories was sitting on the Pentacrest with friends at the end of sophomore year and realizing how happy she was with her decision to become a Hawkeye.
A pleasant surprise within her counseling studies has been learning practical skills that can be applied immediately after graduation in professional environments.
