"As an aspiring writer, there is no better place to pursue storytelling through the written word than the #1 public university in the country for writing, the University of Iowa. Throw in faculty who have a wealth of experience in publishing houses and Hollywood writers' rooms, and it was just a no-brainer."

Storytelling has always been central to Andrew's life. Pursuing English, Creative Writing, and Screenwriting Arts allows him to transform that lifelong passion into a career.

His favorite class has been Dean Bakopoulos' TV Writing course, where he gained valuable insight into the realities of professional screenwriting and storytelling.

Andrew is involved with the Hawkeye Marching Band, Iowa Pep Band, Cinema Ambassadors, the Iowa Writers Living Learning Community, and campus jobs through the Big Ten Network and Office of Admissions. These experiences have given him opportunities to travel, create, and build lasting friendships.

One of his favorite Hawkeye memories was traveling with the Iowa Pep Band to Tampa for the NCAA Tournament and witnessing Iowa's run to the Sweet Sixteen.

A memorable opportunity connected to his major was meeting Game of Thrones screenwriter and Iowa Writers' Workshop graduate D.B. Weiss through the Iowa Writer's Room program.

Andrew's advice is simple: every day is a great day to be successful, every day is a great day to be a Hawkeye, and every day is a great day to believe.
