Due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Angelina's college search and application went strictly online. Considering her interest in the nursing profession, she sought out direct admission nursing programs around the US with an open mind. Having researched both small and large programs, Angelina discovered that nursing programs with a tight-knit community commanded her attention. When she graduates from college, Angelina wants to walk away as a nurse with a meaningful education and a lifetime of friendships. And she's found that at the University of Iowa.

What Angelina likes most about attending the University of Iowa would have to be the genuine relationships that she has made with students and faculty. The transition process into college can be tough at times but her amazing friendships paired with the guidance and leadership from faculty and staff have helped her so much along the way.

Angelina is a part of the University of Iowa’s Multicultural Nursing Association. Being multicultural, it is important to her to surround herself with a diverse community that strives to promote and advocate for delivering the best practices for culturally responsive patient care. The MNA furthermore allows Angelina to give back to her community through various volunteer activities.
