Hannah chose the University of Iowa because she loved the walkability of the campus and its connection to Iowa City! "The University of Iowa had a teaching hospital accessible on campus, as well as highly respected healthcare programs."

She is a volunteer mentor at the University of Iowa Hospital in the Respiratory Specialty and Comprehensive Care Unit. She gets to cater to patients' needs, helps the nurses with anything they need, and gets a great feel for life working in a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital. "It has been such a rewarding experience, and I cannot wait to continue serving the patients and staff."

Hannah's advice for incoming students is not to be nervous if you don't feel like you fit in immediately! Everyone's in the same boat as you. It takes time to find your niche. Figure out what you're passionate about by trying as many new things as possible and following that passion.
