"I chose the University of Iowa, not only because of the beautiful campus, but also because of the wonderful people who have truly made my experience memorable and valuable."

Emma's whole life, she has grown up admiring and finding beauty in nature and the environment. As she got older, she learned that not everyone shared that admiration. Using skills that she has attained over the years, she decided to combine that love and admiration with her knack for attention to detail and communication skills for her major: environmental policy.

In addition to her admiration for the environment, Emma loves the community at Iowa. "You never have to look far at Iowa to find a friendly face or a helping hand. I've made so many friends and connections here that it's hard to imagine the same college experience at any other university."

Her advice would be: get out there and try something new! This is the time to experiment, get out of your comfort zone, join a club, and switch your major! There is no one to stop you, or tell you you're not welcome, so do something you've never done before. You might just surprise yourself.
