"The community here is unmatched. Looking around on game days and seeing thousands of people wearing Iowa gear gives me so much pride for my school."

Lizzie chose Iowa because, although it’s far from home for her, it felt more like home than anywhere else. She chose Iowa because she knew she would be taken care of every step of the way.

This year, she is the president of PhARM@UI and a committee member of Dance Marathon. "I love feeling like I have a sense of purpose and can really make a difference on campus."

One of her most memorable experiences was meeting people in the residence halls. Some of those people are her closest friends now, and it’s super fun when your neighbors are just a few steps away.

Her advice to incoming Hawkeyes is "Don’t be afraid to do things by yourself. I was so scared to do something as simple as going to the dining hall alone, but being able to be independent gave me a whole new sense of freedom and purpose."
